Why one question per screen?

Because of where it is answered. The conversational layout gives each question the whole screen, which is the only format that reliably gets finished while a room is packing up.

Does it give the student a mark?

A badge, not a number — three bands with wording written to be useful rather than final.

Can I use it every lesson?
